Small Skullcap Plant

Small Skullcap Plant

As its name suggests this is one of the smallest members of the Scutellaria genus. It doesn’t compete very well with taller plants and grows well where the vegetation is somewhat sparse. Most of the skullcaps have bitter foliage and so are unattractive to most animal predators. The flowers on this species is very showy and it attracts a myriad of bees, syrphid flies, and skippers.
