I’ve never met a mallow I didn’t like. All of them are edible and packed with the mucilage we all love, like okra! This one is almost exclusively found in the midwest and acts like a large perennial. Sam Thayer turned me on to this plant and its edibility. The leaves and flowers are nice and sweet and can be used in bulk earlier in the year. When in bloom the bees and native bumbles are in heaven. Big maple like leaves are eaten by deer and livestock so you may want to protect your crop!
