Wooly Thicket Bean Plant

(Ready in May)

Native nitrogen fixing vining perennial bean with wild populations in northeast Ohio. This plant is very closely related to Lima beans and could be used in a breeding project to create a perennial bean. This is my first time growing this plant and I plan on putting a few in mostly full sunny areas that are protected from strong winds. Supposedly very shade tolerant. I’m most concerned with a good location to help individuals to overwinter as this plant is probably averse to wet, heavy, soils. Seeds came from Prairie Moon Nursery,
Dry, FS/PS, perennial
