Passion Flower “Maypop” Plant

Perennial fruiting vine native to the eastern United States with a gene center in North Carolina. This plant was extensively cultivated by native peoples across the eastern seaboard, its range was largely extended and its fruits improved by native peoples. Tropical passionflowers are the base of the original flavoring of Hawaiian punch. Growing on a trellis the large complex purple and white flowers are attractive to bees and hummers, fruit in the fall.
