Also known as perennial celery, Lovage was traditionally used in stews. Current practice uses the root as a proestrogenic tonic similar to dang gui. We eat this herb primarily as a perennial vegetable. If the flavor is too strong for you, you can put a non-white bucket over the plant in early spring for a blanched delight. Grows chest high in good soils.
